T.A.G. The Academic Gym blends phonics, fitness, and fun to help all kids—especially those with ADHD and reading deficits.

We combine athletic drills with academic skills to help kids exercise their bodies and minds at the same time on our T.A.G. BUS and in our T.A.G. Studio located in Walden, NY.

T.A.G. puts the thrills into reading skills to make kids happy, focused, and smart. T.A.G. helps kids overcome cognitive challenges such as ADHD and phonological awareness deficits that lead to reading difficulties.

T.A.G. is the brainchild of Mr. Brian Vieira M.A., founder of ScholarSkills Learning Center, and a recognized leader in multi-sensory literacy education.

About Mr. Vieira

Brian Vieira M.A. (Science of Reading Specialist)

With over three distinguished decades of creating evidenced-based, structured literacy curricula and training students and teachers from K-12, Mr. Vieira has become one of the nation's leading experts on the English spelling, writing, and reading system.

He is the author of twenty-three books on English orthography, morphology, etymology, and dyslexia that help parents and teachers equip students with the skills they need to spell, read, and write with confidence and excellence.

Mr. Vieira is currently the President of ScholarSkills Learning Center, which assists students, parents, and teachers in their quest for excellence.

He is the author of the following curricula:

  • The Sentence-Smart Grammar Curriculum, which helps students analyze and construct simple and complex sentence structures.

  • The Word-Parts for Word-Smarts Curriculum, which helps students learn vocabulary through morphology and etymology

  • The Sound and Say Oral Spelling Curriculum, which helps students master the phonemic and syllabic structures of English orthography

Recently, in his unending quest to find innovative ways to help all children learn to read, write, and speak with excellence, Mr. Vieira established T.A.G.— The Academic Gym at ScholarSkills. T.A.G. is a multisensory combination of phonics, fitness, and fun that helps all kids develop exceptional reading skills. T.A.G. is especially helpful for kids struggling with reading or diagnosed with dyslexia or ADHD. T.A.G. helps kids win socially, emotionally, and academically. Kids gain the confidence, focus, and skills they need to learn and succeed.
